Japan, the UK, and Italy are accelerating the joint development of a next-generation fighter aircraft. The defense ministers of these three nations announced plans to establish a trilateral governmental organization by the end of the year, which will collaborate with aircraft manufacturers. In 2022, the countries agreed to jointly produce a new fighter jet expected to be operational by 2035. This initiative is driven by rising threats from China, Russia, and North Korea.
